Short courses for school leaders in junior secondary education. This site will guide you to acquire strong instructional leadership skills and organize quality teacher professional development at the school level, thus supporting the effective implementation of the competency-based curriculum.

Effective School Leadership for JS (ESL4JS) is a training program that seeks to equip school leaders with competencies and strategies that help them to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their instructional skills. The goal of the course is to ensure school leaders in junior school education acquire strong instructional leadership skills and organize quality teacher professional development at the school level to support the effective implementation of the competence-based curriculum.


INCREASE Project

INCREASE is a collaborative program implemented by Kenya Education Management Institute(KEMI) in partnership with VVOB that aims to address the challenges of implementing the competence-based curriculum in Kenya by strengthening instructional leadership skills among school leaders and facilitating quality professional development opportunities.


Programme Goal

The goal of the INCREASE programme is to ensure that school leaders in junior secondary education acquire strong instructional leadership skills and organize quality teacher professional development at the school level, thus supporting the effective implementation of the competency-based curriculum and providing learners with the necessary 21st-century skills for educational and professional futures.
